The 2010 USRA National Cup (R4) will be hosted at the UCWWF. Please read the Cup guidelines below.
The US National Cup will take place within the event structure of the Upper Clackamas Whitewater Festival (UCWWF). Registration, timing, and results will be done separately from the UCWWF by USRA race officials. The 2010 US National Cup is essentially a dress rehearsal to prepare local coordinators to host the R6 National Championships in 2011.
What you need to know:
- Registration for this event will be done separately at the Fish Creek put in.
- The time trial done shortly after registration will seed you against a team of similar skills in a raft provided by Sotar.
- Sotar will be providing 12 rafts. If more than 12 teams enter then the teams with the slowest time in the time trial will be asked to use their own boat. The Sotar boats are equipped with 3 thwarts and front foot-cups. The boats cannot be modified in any way as teams will not be assigned a specific boat during the races.
- Pay close attention to the overall UCWWF event schedule as meeting places and start times vary throughout the weekend.
- Sunday we will start the Sprint and Slalom disciplines at Armstrong Bridge, not Fish Creek. The take out for these disciplines will be river left just below Carter Bridge so racers must make the small eddy on river left!
- The Sprint discipline will be conducted in a head to head bracket elimination format thus winning teams must hustle back to the starting area to hop in a boat for their next heat after the boat you have just used has been carried to the top of the bank. If a trailer is available please load the boat and then get quickly back to Armstrong.
- Teams will get 2 slalom runs with the start at Armstrong and finish Carter Bridge. The fastest run will be used to determine points. Teams do not have to do 2 slalom runs.
- Points will be accrued for each discipline. Therefore teams desiring to win the US National Cup must participate in the Time Trial, Downriver, Sprint, and Slalom disciplines throughout the weekend!
- Prizes will be awarded for overall points only.
- A one for all registration fee will be collected in regard to each USRA National Cup rafting discipline.
- Teams do not have to race in each discipline yet of course not accruing points will adversely effect your final overall standing.
- Teams (R4) are allowed one alternate paddler and this person must be listed on the registration form.
- USRA officials will make every attempt to adhere to the race standards set forth by the International Rafting Federation (IRF). http://internationalrafting.com/?page_id=671
- Insure that your team, especially team captain attends the racer’s meeting on Saturday and Sunday morning.
- Paddle hard and have fun!!
